The eRcane Industrial Automation department has a DCS Freelance test and programme simulation station. This bench consists of sensors (potentiometer, switches, etc.) and several types of AC700F, AC800F and AC900F central units connected to control stations. This test bench facilitates the development and testing of process automation programmes prior to their implementation.
This laboratory hosts training courses for sugar mill control department staff. The training sessions take place in several (mainly practical) phases. After a short theoretical presentation of the DCS Freelance system, the trainees learn the basics of programming control loops and using HMI (human-machine Interfaces).
They are then put in charge of a sugar mill project while benefiting from guidance from the team members. The programme is then validated via the test and simulation bench.
