Inauguration of the Emile HUGOT laboratory

The V2ARUN project is run in partnership with the Chemistry of Natural Substances and Food Sciences Laboratory (LCSNSA) at Reunion Island University, the Reunion Island University Institute of Technology in Saint Pierre (IUT) and the Agro-Industrial Chemistry Laboratory at ENSIACET, in Toulouse. The research work, which is scheduled to last for four years, is being carried out by teams in Reunion Island and in Toulouse. A pilot extraction mill should see the light in 2011.

Sugarcane has many potential outlets that are yet to be explored and other innovative projects will also be carried out in the new laboratory. The aim is to pool all the expertise in Reunion Island whilst working in partnership with internationally renowned research institutes, because research is not a solitary job but the result of exchanges and partnerships.
